Started playing around with editing and some home made sound effects in premier, experiments are below.
Was just playing around with the sequence at first, couldn't get the frame rate right:
Still saving out a bit jolty, but I'm thinking of adding a door squeaking open at the beginning and then having the mare appear behind him:
Sorted the frame rate out, it's exporting nicely now. Added some sound effects, really like the creak at the beginning and added me blowing down the mic as a kind of thunder/wind element when the mare is introduced:
Playing around with sequence:
Really pleased with the sound and sequence of this as an opening scene:
Experimenting with what could come after the opening, want it to be really obvious that he's in a static kind of dream world, the idea is to have him encased in darkness and then for the darkness to quickly transition into light to show a new landscape, he'll be returning to the darkness throughout the animation as a kind of place in between dream segments so it's important to get it right:
After leaving it a day I thought the opening scene needed neatening up a little, wasn't happy with the pace or the quality reduction when close up, better attempt:
Returned to the opening scene and made a few adjustments, I like the ending transition here more, the bed turning as if it's going to throw him out represents entering the dream world:
Returned to this scene again and made a new sequence:
